I help people who struggle with depression, relationship issues, trauma, grief, and creative blocks. An additional focus of my practice centers around issues such as race-related stress, acculturation challenges, and bicultural identity. I specialize in working with immigrants and children of immigrants, people navigating major life transitions, and creatives and artists.

You may long for a space that can lead to deeper understanding and real transformation, not just short-term coping. Therapy can offer a space to listen inward, begin to understand yourself more deeply, and find new ways to respond to challenges.

My approach is depth-oriented, relational, and culturally attuned. I believe that lasting change happens in the context of a trusting relationship with an emotionally attuned therapist, who can witness your experience with care and curiosity, and help you make meaning of what’s been difficult to face alone.  It’s a collaborative, unfolding process of slowing down, listening closely to what’s been buried or overlooked, and beginning to relate to your experiences and yourself in a new way.

My work is grounded in a culturally sensitive, psychodynamic approach that honors your unique inner life while also recognizing the profound effects of societal and systemic forces on your psyche and lived experience. Psychodynamic therapy’s ability to help create long-lasting change is supported by current research in neuroscience and I always personalize my approach to your specific needs.

My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative.  I offer a deeply attentive space where your inner world is heard and held with care. Through gentle but thoughtful exploration, we slowly uncover the what may have been stuck or hidden. This process helps us name the patterns that might be limiting you, working steadily and patiently to help you feel better, gain more self-understanding, and have more choice in how you live your life. My goal is to provide a steady, committed attunement that supports your journey toward insight, healing, and meaningful change.

I specialize in providing psychotherapy for individuals who wish to work on issues such as:

  • Loosening the grip of patterns of depression, despair, or hopelessness

  • Developing more fulfilling and connected relationships

  • Feeling creatively blocked or experiencing artistic block

  • A sense of not belonging culturally

  • Exploring racial identity, ethnicity, and cross-cultural experiences

  • Making space for high sensitivity in a fast-moving world

  • Managing life transitions, including breakups, divorce, and career changes

  • Working through grief, loss, and complicated emotional pain

  • Healing from childhood neglect and relational trauma

  • Living with anxiety, persistent self-doubt, or shame

Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length and occur weekly or more frequently.  The sessions can be in-person in my office in Oakland, CA or San Francisco, CA, or via HIPAA-compliant tele-therapy platforms, or a hybrid of both in-person and remote.  Together, we can work together to make treatment choices to help you to get unstuck, meet your treatment goals, and find greater freedom in your life.
